Support students from different schools and backgrounds joining together for the second annual Maputo Interschool Music & Theatre Workshop… and get a stylish and unique t-shirt.
For a donation of $15, we’ll mail you a t-shirt! For $20, you’ll receive a shirt and donate one to a Mozambican student attending the workshop. The t-shirts help to unify the diverse group of participants – donated shirts will go to the public school students who cannot afford to pay.
After only 1 day of selling the shirts here in Maputo, we’ve had 30 shirts donated.
Adult and child sizes are available – but supplies are limited so order this week!

Second Annual Interschool Music & Theatre Workshop February 11, 2010

The Maputo Interschool Music & Theatre Workshop is back, taking place on February 19 and 20 at the American International School of Mozambique. Activities this year will include Gumboots, Cultural Dance, Choir, Drama, Capoeira and more!
We expect an even bigger turnout than last year, with more schools represented. Details for schools here. Read about last year’s workshop here.

We are now accepting applications for the 2010 session of Musical Theatre Connections, our teen summer program held in Monteverde, Costa Rica! This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for youth to pursue their passion for musical theatre alongside peers from the local community, experiencing a new culture and engaging in meaningful service.

The cast of Urinetown in Monteverde, Costa Rica
Our production of Urinetown: The Musical in Monteverde, Costa Rica was hit! Cast members included students from the Centro de Educación Creativa and the Monteverde Friends School as well as students from abroad. The show was directed by Janet Burns, produced by Adrienne Leduc, and music directed by Lisa Burns.

We are in immediate need of both volunteers and funds to continue our work! Here are a few different ways you can make a concrete difference for our young organization:
1) Donate. Help us to cover the expenses of Urinetown and to stage our next show!
